November 22, 2011 - 14 Dawgs Receive Season End PFL Honors (Link)
Jordan Ridley, Zach Watkins and Pete Mattingly all recieve 1st Team All PFL recognition.  Also receiving PFL honors were Trae Heeter, Andy Dauch, Nick Calicott, Andrew Huck, Grant Hunter, David Lang, Matt Jenson, Matt Storey, Jay Howard, Sean Grady and Jordan Koopman.

November 19, 2011 - Morehead outscores Butler 55 - 35 (Link)
The two teams combined for over 1000 yards in total offense but in the end, Morehead scored more points for the victory.  It was the season finale for both teams.

November 17, 2011 - Butler Travels To Morehead For Season Finale (Link)
The Dawgs head south to Jayne Stadium in Morehead, KY to play the Morehead State Eagles this Saturday, November 19 with kickoff at 1PM.  This will be the final game of the 2011 season for both teams.  Offensively the Eagles have a very potent passing attack which ranks second behind Jacksonville in PFL conference play.  According to the Butler Game Notes, Senior QB and Co-Captain Andrew Huck is not listed on the two deep depth chart.  Huck was injured in the Marist game as was Senior LB and Co-Captain Nick Caldicott.  Unfortunately, Caldicott's injury was season ending for him.  If Huck can not play Saturday, it appears that Tom Judge will start at QB for the second time this season.

The picture on the Home page of this site is of Andrew Huck from the 2009 Morehead game played in the rain, mud and muck at Jayne Stadium in Morehead.  Huck is shown helping lead the Dawgs back from a 21 - 0 deficit to an improbable 28 - 21 overtime win.  This was the first PFL conference game that season and it set the tone for Butler's championship run. Andrew, here's hoping you can take the field one more time at Jayne Stadium.

November 12, 2011 - Jacksonville 34, Butler 24 (Link)
OK, so it is November 15 and this posting is a little late but it was a long drive back from Jacksonville.  Dawgs played Jacksonville tough with a great game plan.  We ran the ball very well between the tackles, hit timely passes and won the time of possession.  However, kudos to Jacksonville as they made the big plays when they had to do so.  A disappointing loss for the Dawgs but there was no quit in the Dawg in this fight.

ovember 5, 2011 - Butler Defeats Davidson 17-7 (Link)
On a gorgeous Saturday afternoon, the Dawgs defeated the Davidson Wildcats 17 -7 in the Butler Bowl season finale.  It was also the final home game for 23 seniors. This is the third time in a row that Butler has defeated Davidson after going winless against Davidson in all the Dawgs previous attempts.  With two games remaining in the season, the Dawgs will finish out on the road against Jacksonville and then Morehead.

November 2, 2011 - Dawgs To Face Davidson On Senior Day (Link)
Butler will play the Davidson Wildcats this Saturday, November 5, in the Butler Bowl which will be the last home game of the season as well as the last home game for 23 seniors.  Kickoff is at noon.  The Wildcats suffered a 26 - 20 triple overtime defeat to Campbell University last week.  They are winless in the PFL this season and the Dawgs hope to keep them that way.  Here is a link to the Butler Game Notes for this game.  For the Davidson perspective of this game, here is a link to the Davidson Game Notes.

October 22, 2011 - Marist Defeats Butler 28 - 10 (Link)
The Marist Red Foxes rolled up a 21 - 3 halftime lead and the Dawgs never really got back in the game.  While Butler did play Marist even in the second half, too many miscues and injuries stalled any potential rallies.  October 29 is a bye week for the Dawgs.  Butler will face Davidson next in the Butler Bowl on November 5 in the last home game of the season.

October 19, 2011 - Butler To Face Marist For The First Time (Link)
The Dawgs will play the Marist Red Foxes for the first time since Marist joined the PFL in 2009.  The game will be at 1 PM this Saturday, October 22, in the Butler Bowl.  Our offense will have to be on their game as the Red Foxes have a very stingy defense. The Marist defense leads the PFL in fewest total yards allowed per game of 311 yards.  Butler's offense  averages  411 yards per game.  Something has to give and hopefully it will be Marist who has a penchant for turning the ball over to their opponent more than any other team in the PFL.

October 15, 2011 - Butler Defeats Valparaiso 42-14 (Link)
The Hoosier Helmet Trophy will remain in Indianapolis for another year.  The Dawgs defeated the Valpo Crusaders 42-14.  A highlight of the game was Butler's defensive back Sean Grady's record setting 90 yard interception for a touchdown.  The Dawgs lead the PFL in Turnover Margin with a positive margin of +10.  Our next opponent, Marist, has the worst Turnover Margin in the PFL with a negative margin of -12.  Hopefully, the trend continues.

October 12, 2011 -  If It Is The Valpo Game, It Means The Battle For The Hoosier Helmet (Link)
The Dawgs will face the Valparaiso Crusaders for the 40th time in the Butler Bowl.  The winner will claim the "Hoosier Helmet Trophy" until the next meeting.  Kickoff is scheduled for 1PM this Saturday, October 15, in the Butler Bowl.  Here is the link to the Butler Game Notes as well as the Valparaiso Game Notes for this contest.

October 8, 2011 - Camels Run Past The 'Dawgs 38 - 23 (Link)
Our 'Dawgs tallied more offensive yards than Campbell, 460 to 449, but unfortunately the yards did not translate into more points than Campbell.  Butler had the ball on offense in the second half for only about 8 minutes.  Campbell's running game provided them with a 22 minute time of possession cushion as they scored 4 TDs in the second half.

October 5, 2011 - Butler On The Road Again As Bulldogs Travel Tp Campbell University (Link)
The 'Dawgs will travel to Barker Lane Stadium in North Carolina to play the Campbell University Camels this Saturday, October 8.  Kickoff is set for noon.  Here is a link to the Butler Game Notes for this game as well as the Campbell Game Notes.

October 2, 2011 - David Lang Named PFL Special Teams Player Of The Week (Link)
For the second time this season, David Lang was named the PFL Special Teams Player Of The Week. As Butler fans know, he made a clutch field goal with 1:31 remaining in the game against Dayton to put the 'Dawgs ahead for good. By the way, nice blocking O-Line, nice snap Robert Koteff and nice hold Jeff Larsen.  A wonderful sight when it all works together.

October 1, 2011 - Butler Defeats Dayton 29 - 27 (Link)
The offense played like it was the Indiana State game.  The defense played like it was the Taylor game.  David Lang kicked like, well, David Lang.

September 28, 2011 - Butler Will Travel To Dayton This Saturday For PFL Game (Link)
The 'Dawgs travel east on I-70 this weekend to face the University of Dayton Flyers.  Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 1 PM in Welcome Stadium.  The last time these teams met in Welcome Stadium, Butler came away with a 31-28 victory.  The 'Dawgs will have to bring their "A" game as Dayton rarely loses a home PFL contest.  In fact their last PFL home loss was Butler's 31 - 28 victory in 2009.  Here is a link to the Butler Game Notes for this upcoming game as well as a link to the Dayton Game Notes.  Go 'Dawgs!

September 24, 2011 - Watkins Sets Another Butler Receiving Record (Link)
A big 'Dawg Bark to senior receiver Zach Watkins as he turned in another record setting performance in Saturday's game against Drake.  Last week against Taylor University, Zach became the Butler all time leader in receptions. In the game this week against Drake, he became the Butler all time leader in receiving yards.  The records are a great accomplishment for which he gives the credit to the other ten Butler guys on the field with him.

September 17, 2011 - Butler Defeats Taylor 23 - 6 (Link)

September 10, 2011 - Butler Loses To Indiana State (Link)
Indiana State defeated our Bulldogs 48 - 34 in Terre Haute.  The Bulldog offense was able to put on a very good offensive display but it was not enough to overcome the Sycamores on their home field.  Butler will travel to Upland, IN this Saturday, September 17, to face Taylor University in a non-conference matchup.  Butler defeated Taylor last year 28 - 20 in the first game played at the renovated Butler Bowl.

September 7, 2011 - 'Dawgs To Play Indiana State This Saturday (Link)
Butler will resume a long time rivalry this Saturday when they travel to Terre Haute, IN to play the Indiana State Sycamores.  Kickoff is set for 2 PM.  Hopefully, you will join us in Terre Haute  for the game.  However, if you can not make it, you will be able to enjoy a live internet stream of the game through the Big  Play Radio Sports link.  Big Play has indicated that the technical issues encountered in last week's Albion stream have been corrected.  Here is a link to the Butler Game Notes as well as the Indiana State Game Notes for this upcoming contest.
